Our Oldest Citizen Dead
Mr. Drewry S. Patterson the oldest citizen of the county, died at his home three miles south of Jackson on Thursday morning. He was one of the pioneers of Middle Georgia having lived on the land on which he died since 1828. He was born on the first day of August 1798 and consequently was in his eighty ninth year. His remains were intered in the family burial ground on Friday. Rev. Dr. Timmons of the Methodist church conducting the ceremonies.
