The Hawkes Building

The Butts County Genealogical Society
meets every third Thursday night at 7 p. m.
in the Mallet House at 412 E. Third Street in Jackson, GA.
Visitors are cordially welcomed and members are urged to attend.

The Butts County Genealogical Society will not meet in July or August.
The next meeting is June 21, 2007 and the meeting after that will be on September 20, 2007.


The officers for the year 2007 are:

Treasurer - Tom Hudson

This year, 2007, is seeing some important projects going on, including working toward the first permanent home we have had. The Hawkes Building, formerly the Jackson City Hawkes Library for Children, will be renovated and turned over to the Butts County Historical Society and the Butts County Genealogical Society for administration as a community civic center, Society library, and County museum.
